SIDI ISMAEL 20/1 0.5pt E/W (1pt)
(Hills)
David Pipe won this same race last year, and it’s interesting that his entrant for this years renewal, Sidi Ismael, also holds an entry for a much more valuable handicap at Newcastle tomorrow - opting to come here may just be a
signpost in itself. It was a step back in the right direction for Sidi Ismael last time out at Plumpton, in a performance backed up by the speed figures, and that was also his first back following a minor injury so ultimately it can probably be upgraded. He was hitting his peak around this time last year, placing off 131 at Ffos Las, and the fact we see him off what is essentially a mark of 120 today should tell you all you need to know about him appearing to be a well handicapped type.

STRIKING A POSE 7/1 0.5pt E/W (1pt)
(Hills)
Striking A Pose is 3 wins from 3 round Exeter, the latest when making a successful return to hurdles after a large spell over fences here last time out. What was most impressive about that run was the fact he won over a 2m3f trip too short, overcoming some in form rivals on the day. This step back up to a more suitable 2m7f can see him in a much better
light, and he’s taken to continue the high levels of performance shown back at his favoured venue.
