HARD FROST 2/1 1pt WIN
(Victors/Coral/Lads)
Hard Frost should be tough to beat here, having got off the mark in a much more valuable race for this grade last time out at Taunton, clearly benefitting from the first time step up to today’s 2m7f trip. He’s now finished in the top 2 in 4 of his 5 career starts over fences, and a 3lb rise at the
weights shouldn’t be enough to stop him from putting up another big effort here, especially given his mark of 91 still falls drastically short of his last time RPR of 98. Harry Derham is 2 wins from just 3 runners at Huntingdon, and there’s no reason as to why Hard Frost can’t take another step forward here on what will be his third start of the campaign. He looks to hold a number of today’s rivals on form given he re-opposes them from last time out, and he encounters similar conditions on the
day.

KING OF SPEED 8/1 0.5pt E/W (1pt)
(bet365)
King Of Speed is a 2-time turf scorer, most recently off 61 in May, however has shown his effectiveness on the A/W of late, and has been posting some respectable efforts. He was a good 3rd over today’s 7f trip at Wolves 3 starts back off 59, getting within a neck of the 2nd who has followed up with a win since, and a line can be drawn
through his last two starts, having been slowly away before running too freely on his penultimate outing, prior to being poorly placed when plotting a wide route round Kempton last time out. He’s down off 57 today, and the application of 3lb claimer Callum Hutchinson puts him to a highly attractive rating of 54. This represents a fairly valuable race for the grade so there’s all the more reason to be having a good go of things today, and if breaking well, should be involved at the
finish.
