This Roger Fell was a very impressive winner at Wolves last time out – dotting up by 4 1/4 lengths.
That was his second win in his last three races and based on that will have many
supporters here.
However, the big negative for me is the switch to the grass – this is because all his wins (3) have been on the AW. Yes, he’s only run four times on the grass, but has only racked-up one third.
The other things against him in my book are that he’s been raised another 5lbs by the handicapper here, also has another 1/2 a furlong to travel and also has a very
wide draw (10) to deal with – and, as we know, that’s not always ideal around the tight turns of Chester.
Finally, the Fell team are not in great form at present with just 1 win from their last 22 and here on the Roodee they are 0-from-11.
