starts at Carlisle and Kelso. Stepping up in trip should be a positive, and the 9lb rise is mitigated by Alan Doyle’s 5lb claim. With conditions expected to suit, he can maintain his unbeaten record over fences.

Havaila looked a different horse when winning decisively over this course and distance last time out under Harry Cobden. Aworkinprogress has been consistent, but is creeping up the
weights, while Are You Wise To That has been disappointing despite early promise. With Cobden keeping the ride, Havaila can continue his progress off a fair 4lb rise.

Thor De Cerisy caught the eye when failing to stay over 2m6f at Windsor last time but travelled strongly for much of the race. Dropping back to 2m4f on heavy ground should suit, and with Dylan Johnston claiming 3lbs, he
looks well-handicapped to strike. The softer conditions should play to his strengths, making him the best bet of the day.
