1:36pm Wincanton – Golden Ace 💫
Burdett Road (8/11 fav) is the hype horse here, but Golden Ace (11/4) offers serious value. The mare gets 8lbs
from the favorite and has proven class, beating Brighterdaysahead at Cheltenham last year. Though stretched over longer trips lately, her speed remains sharp, and Jeremy Scott’s yard is back in form. With drier ground and a tactical ride from Lorcan Williams, she’s primed to pounce late.
Pick: Golden Ace @ 11/4
1:50pm Ascot – Peaky Boy (Each-Way) 🎯
Recently moved to Jonjo
O’Neill’s yard, Peaky Boy (8/1) is overlooked despite strong form: a chase debut win and a close second at Cheltenham in December. He handles good ground, and jockey Nick Schofield could unlock his potential. Jingko Baie and Lowry’s Bar have jumping questions. At the price, Peaky Boy’s a live outsider.
Sneaky EW Play: Peaky Boy @ 8/1 (2 places)
3:15pm Haydock –
Famous Bridge & Galia Des Liteaux 🛣️
In a stacked Grand National Trial, two stand out:
Famous Bridge (9/1): Unseated here last year but now 12lbs better off with Yeah Man. Cheekpieces added for focus.
Galia Des Liteaux (10/1): 17lbs swing with Val Dancer from their Welsh National clash. Loves testing conditions and stays all day.
Royale Pagaille (top weight) and Git Maker (primed for bigger targets?) are risks. Split stakes on these two.
Picks: Famous Bridge @ 9/1 & Galia Des Liteaux @ 10/1
3:37pm Ascot – Pic D’Orhy (NAP 👑)
Pic D’Orhy (15/8) is the Ascot specialist – he won this last year and thrives on quick ground.
L’Homme Presse prefers left-handed tracks, and Corbett’s Cross needs softer going. Paul Nicholls has targeted this race, and with fresher legs than rivals, the reigning champ repeats.
Lock It In: Pic D’Orhy @ 15/8 (NAP)
4:10pm Ascot – Kingston Pride 🌟
Kingston Pride (13/8) bombed on soft last time but loves good
ground. His Uttoxeter hurdles win was eye-catching, and this step up in trip suits. Crest Of Fortune (blinkered first time) is dangerous but has been racing over the wrong distance. Stick with the Lambourn raider.
Best Bet: Kingston Pride @ 13/8
