2:52pm – Graham (Nap) (5/2 with bet365)
Graham is taken to turn the tables on Character Testing, who narrowly beat him at Plumpton last time.
That only tells half the story, though — Graham blundered badly past the stands and never recovered, having been sent off 6/4 favourite. He’s now 6lbs better off, and that could make all the difference.
A dual winner on fast ground on the Flat off a mark of 79, he’s potentially thrown in off this hurdles rating and should enjoy the surface here. Despite not being bred for jumping, he hurdled well for most of the race last time, and if putting in a cleaner round,
he should go close.
✅ Verdict: Big chance if jumping holds together – well treated on Flat form.
4:30pm – Royal Way (9/2 with bet365)
Royal Way drops to a mark 5lbs below the one he won off at Ascot last year and is fitted with first-time blinkers – a combination that could spark a revival. He’s shown very little over the winter, but his effort in the
Masterson Holdings race at Cheltenham back in the autumn was a more credible performance.
Ground won’t be an issue – he’s scored on soft in the past – but better ground and new headgear could be key to unlocking some consistency. With Caoilin Quinn taking off a handy 3lbs, he’s weighted to run well.
✅ Verdict: Dangerous off this mark – blinkers and better ground could do the trick.

Lingfield
4:13pm – War Hawk (7/4 with bet365)
War Hawk ran better than the bare result suggests on his handicap debut at Wolverhampton. Slowly away and posted wide early, he was dropped in and ran on well late in a slowly run affair. He wasn't unlucky, but the run strongly hinted there’s more to come.
He now steps up in trip — a move that looks positive — and Harry Davies is back in the
saddle. With previous form behind a now 79-rated rival and his mark dropped a pound to 71, he looks very fairly treated.
✅ Verdict: Unexposed, well-handicapped, and bred to stay – leading player.
