🏇 Aintree Tips – Wednesday 3rd April
1:45pm – Impaire Et Passe
A hot renewal of the Manifesto Novices' Chase. Jango Baie
stays this trip well but had a hard race at Cheltenham, while Gidleigh Park was impressive at Windsor but needs to back it up. I’m siding with Impaire Et Passe, who was a Grade 1 winner here last year and shaped well behind Ballyburn at the DRF. Cheekpieces go on today, and a cleaner round of jumping should see him back to his best.
🟩 Selection: Impaire Et Passe – 10/3
2:20pm – Murcia
(EW)
Live Conti may be smart but has a lot to prove on better ground. Murcia caught the eye when travelling well in the Boodles and is now 13lbs better off with the winner. Mullins preferred her over a Triumph entry, and this flat track could suit ideally. Value each-way play.
🟩 Each-Way: Murcia – 11/1 (3 places)
2:55pm – Grey Dawning (NAP)
Grey Dawning looked back to form
when making all at Kelso and can strike again here. The trip and ground are ideal, and he’s had a lighter campaign this time around. He was below par at Aintree last year but arrives fresher now. Big chance if jumping cleanly.
🟩 NAP: Grey Dawning – 9/4
3:30pm – Lossiemouth
The Mares’ Hurdle winner steps up in class but gets weight from the geldings and is proven over the trip. Constitution Hill
is brilliant but returning after a fall and may face a tougher test if this turns tactical. Lossiemouth looks primed to take advantage.
🟩 Selection: Lossiemouth – 7/4
4:05pm – My Drogo & Famous Clermont
My Drogo showed promise back in open company at Haydock and has been carefully campaigned for this. Famous Clermont won this race last year and looks just as good again
on decent ground. I’m splitting stakes between the pair.
🟩 Split Stakes: My Drogo – 11/2 & Famous Clermont – 11/2
4:40pm – Petit Tonnerre & Rath Gaul Hill
Petit Tonnerre was unlucky last time but has strong form and should relish a strong pace. Rath Gaul Hill remains unbeaten over fences and impressed at Newbury. Both appeal at prices in what looks a wide-open
closer.
🟩 Split Stakes: Petit Tonnerre – 8/1 & Rath Gaul Hill – 12/1
