3:00pm Ludlow - Ascending Lark (Nap)
ASCENDING LARK (Nap) is unbeaten in both hurdle starts since joining the Harry Derham yard and she makes her handicap debut from what looks attractive markof 113
for her inform stable.
She has won on good and soft ground and, while she will stay further going forward, she has gone well fresh in the past. She holds an entry in the Betfair Hurdle next month which suggests connections believe she is potentially well handicapped from her opening mark.
2:35pm Wincanton - Kado De Joie
Nico De
Boinville has a couple of interesting rides at Wincanton courtesy of the chasing newcomer Ideal Des Bordes and KADO DE JOIE who can defy a 6lbs rise for scoring at Lingfield last time and land his hat-trick.
The selection was ridden with supreme confidence by James Bowen last time and I thought he was value for more than the 1L margin of victory. He will need more, however, as runner up Fine Casting is allowed 4lbs for
that length although I do believe the Ben Pauling runner is better going left-handed.
The drying ground is a plus for the selection who coped with soft ground last time although connections suggested he would prefer a sounder surface. Hills have opened up 11/4 on the Henderson trained five-year-old but I would hope that there is circa 7/2 available when other firms display their prices.
Highlands Legacy has not seen the
course since June when second at Worcester under a penalty in a Novice Hurdle over the minimum distance. This additional half mile will suit as will the softer ground – he had scored on heavy previously – and Kevin Brogan takes the ride for Team O’Neill with the stable jockey on Monty Bodkin at Ludlow.
2:00pm Wincanton - Siam Park (Each-Way)
I am convinced that SIAM PARK
(Each-Way) is better than a mark of 104 but he must learn to drop his head if he is to fulfil that potential. He did settle a bit better in front at Taunton last time but only got as far as the third before losing Freddie Gingell.
He finished as well as anything - minus his jockey – at the Somerset track and jumped the last two hurdles spectacularly well. He was sent off 12/1 last time so is again likely to be a double figure price and it will be
interesting to see if connections decide to persevere with front running tactics.
Note Strong Belle is one of a number who like to race prominently, and a strong gallop is, seemingly, guaranteed.
Joe Tizzard has gone a bit quiet in recent weeks, but Lord Of Thunder ran a cracker for the yard at Ffos Las on Saturday and Brendan Powell returns to the plate. Note most firms have advertised that they will be betting five places
on the race.
2:00pm Wincanton - Siam Park 0.5pts Each-Way 10/1 with 5 places, or sky 6 places at 9/1
2:35pm Wincanton - Kado De Joie 1pt win 11/4, some 3/1 available
3:00pm Ludlow - Ascending Lark (Nap) 1pt win Evens or 10/11
