12:40pm Windsor – Derryhassan Paddy 1pt win @ 9/2 A small but competitive field opens the weekend’s Berkshire Winter Million. Despite being the outsider at 8/1 (smashed overnight) ,
Derryhassan Paddy gets the nod. Unbeaten in three starts, he looks like a staying chaser in the making and should relish the step up to three miles. Trainer Lucinda Russell rates him highly, and he could be a touch overpriced.
1:15pm Windsor – Herakles Westwood 1pt win @ 10/3 Stepping up to three miles, Herakles Westwood is preferred after a fluent win at Newbury. Though not the biggest chaser, he jumps well and represents the
in-form Warren Greatrex yard. While market leader Deafening Silence is respected, Herakles offers better value.
1:50pm Windsor – Caldwell Potter 1pt win @ 10/11 Paul Nicholls’ Caldwell Potter looks set to bounce back to winning ways. A solid third at Cheltenham last time in stronger company suggests he’s the class act here. His form is strong, and he should thrive under Harry Cobden’s positive ride.
2:25pm Windsor – Panic Attack 1pt win @ 2/1 Returning to fences after two respectable hurdle efforts, Panic Attack should relish the step up in trip. The Skelton mare is only lightly raced over fences, and this setup looks ideal for her to get back to winning ways.
4:08pm Windsor – Hasthing (NAP) 1pt win @ 11/4 Hasthing has shown promise over fences and delivered last time out despite
novicey jumping. The step up in trip should suit, and he remains a horse with significant improvement to come. A big run is expected for JP McManus and Jonjo O’Neill.
AT Lays
Alex currently provides his small group of clients his lay service via our established automation service xCloudBot and has asked me if I'd like to share his lays for a period.

Already a lovely 30 point hole to climb out of 😢

JV Private Service
An impressive set of results over the previous 9 months tipping, JV runs a small private group and is looking to open his doors to a few new clients. Fingers crossed for a profitable trial.
I like backing ten-year-olds in the Veterans' races and NOCTE VOLATUS (4/1) holds plenty of appeal. Tom Lacey's ten-year-old made the most of a reduced mark to score at Uttoxeter back in May, and followed up with a hard-fought win on his reappearance at Chepstow in November.
Nocte Volatus was last seen staying on for second at Ascot behind impressive winner Gemirande, who followed up in the December Gold Cup at Cheltenham. Cameron Iles' claimer leaves Lacey's star shoulder just 10-8 and the track at Market Rasen should certainly suit.
2:25pm Windsor - Panic Attack
After a sticky spell during the opening two weeks of the year, Dan Skelton's horses are coming back into form and this
race looks to have been the target for PANIC ATTACK (9/4) this season.
Skelton's recruit jumped superbly when making a winning chasing debut for David Pipe in 2022 and went on to place in a number of high-profile handicaps against the geldings. After spending the best part of two years off the track, Panic Attack ran in two handicap hurdles in December, finishing third behind the progressive Tour Ovalie on both
occasions.
Dan Skelton has made no secret about targeting this meeting, and Harry is gunning for that David Power Jockey Bonus. Panic Attack looks well-treated on her return to chasing, and stepping back up in trip should suit her, too.
2:35pm Market Rasen - Fortescue
I was keen on FORTESCUE (9/2) for this series final before Sandown was called off and I can't see the move
to Market Rasen inconveniencing him.
Henry Daly's 11-year-old hasn't won for a while, but did go close on three occasions last term and finished a clear second on his reappearance at Aintree behind Copperhead - who had already run and won at Chepstow and was getting a stone from Fortescue at the weights. Hugh Nugent's mount then bumped into another rampant rival in Beauport in the Berkshire National at Ascot, where he was held
up for the majority of the contest and eventually finished fourth.
Fortescue is running off one of the lowest marks of his career and Nugent's claim sees him enter the final at the bottom of the weights. Four of his six chasing wins have come around right-handed tracks and Henry Daly's horses have been in excellent form all season.
3:35pm Windsor - Givemefive
Day one of the Winter
Millions meeting concludes with an excellent handicap hurdle, where chances can be given to plenty. One of the rank outsiders is GIVEMEFIVE (28/1), who seems to have been written off after a 17-length defeat to the superb Anzadam in Ireland on his most recent start.
Harry Derham's star was a precocious juvenile last season, finishing a very close second to Kalif Du Berlais in the Adonis at Kempton, before
finishing fourth in another Grade Two at Fairyhouse in April. Givemefive then won a decent enough renewal of the Masterson Holdings Hurdle at Cheltenham in October, despite the quick ground seemingly being against him.
Top Irish jockey, Michael O'Sullivan travels over to take the ride on Friday and Givemefive is dangerously weighted at just 10-12. Ground conditions should be ideal too.
