3:00pm Sandown – Farceur Du Large
The Grand Military Cup appears to be a two-horse race between last year’s winner, Farceur Du Large, and Hold That Taught, with the former holding a slight edge. Jamie Snowden’s charge
completed a notable double last season, and the trainer has a strong affinity for this race, having won it multiple times in the past.
Major Will Kellard retains the ride, and his partnership with Farceur Du Large has already proven successful in military races. While Hold That Taught is a worthy rival, having had a recent run to sharpen his fitness, Farceur Du Large’s proven track record in this event makes him the preferred
choice.
Recommendation: Farceur Du Large – 6/4
12:55pm Doncaster – One More Stroke (Nap)
In the Novices’ Handicap Chase, One More Stroke stands out as the selection. Trained by Donald McCain, this six-year-old has shown promise over fences and could be well-handicapped. Despite a narrow defeat last time out, he remains on the same mark and should handle any rain-softened
ground.
While Kuzco and others in the field have their merits, One More Stroke has the potential to improve further and looks the most likely winner.
Recommendation: One More Stroke – 4/1
