🐎 Thanos
🟢Odds: ~ 2.37
🟢Stake: ~ 2u WIN
Reasoning:
Thanos makes his nursery debut from a workable opening mark of 53 and looks the type to step
forward now upped to 7f on a straight track. His three qualifying runs were all over 6f in novices, the latest at Kempton where he shaped better than the bare result, travelling into it before getting tapped for toe when the pace lifted. By Lope Y Fernandez out of a Sir Prancealot mare, he should appreciate this extra furlong, and Newcastle’s straight 7f often rewards strong travellers who can sustain a run rather than quicken sharply. A mid-to-wide draw shouldn’t hinder him here, and the switch
to Tapeta is a positive given he’s already handled polytrack.
The race has depth for the grade, but the penalised Smartanck must back up a Wolverhampton win under a 6lb rise, and a few others arrive with questions on trip or consistency. With Harry Charlton’s juveniles going well and Callum Rodriguez an assured judge of pace on this track, Thanos has a profile to improve past his initial mark and be competitive late.
