We didn't end the month on a high and indeed we lost 8 points in April.

It's notoriously a tricky month so let's look to put that behind us now.

Bagged the rail and made all in a 1m handicap here last month. Ridden differently when third at Ripon last week and switching back to previous tactics I think he will go close.

14:40 Thirsk Nugget 11/4

Confirmed the promise of his Nottingham reappearance (unlucky in his run) when running out a convincing winner of the Spring Cup at Newbury 2 weeks ago, and on that evidence, another bold bid is in the offing from a 5 lb higher mark.

16:15 Newmarket Chil Chil 7/2

Andrew Balding's mare was making her seasonal return when Beaten by a race-fit Count Otto , and she is 1lb better off at these weights. A fascinating rematch.
