Fresh off another winner in the form of John Rahm at 10/1 in the US Open. Sometimes even the favourites are overpriced. We are back to two events this week and I have decided to include the full preview for you.
BMW INTERNATIONAL OPEN.
Not sure what price he's going to open but I can imagine SERGIO GARCIA will be a couple of points bigger than he should be. Purely because Louis Oosthuizen and Viktor Hovland are entered. Even if they play Sergio Garcia has a fantastic course record and has bee showing signs of good form again recently. Sergio is 3rd on the PGA tour this season for shots gained off the tee. Sits 17th for greens in regulation. He was T9 at the Players, T5 in the Dell Matchplay before a few missed cuts
and has came out of that run with a T20 in the Charles Schwab and a T19th in the US Open. He played very well at the Charles Schwab and was in the hunt going into the final round before shooting a 76. His record at this event is very good, it includes, a solo 2nd, T2, T5, T7, T7, T12, T12. I think we're seeing a return to form for Sergio and I believe his course knowledge and record makes him hard to beat here. My next selection will be the devil MATTIAS SCHWAB. Becoming a cliff player in a way,
frustrating to follow but ultra talented. He was T3 here in 2019 with some big names including Matt Wallace and Matt Fitzpatrick up there with him so no disgrace being beaten by them. Should go close again here. Has cracking form on tour this season. In the past 3 months his record is; T7,T7,T8, T33,T11,T8,T45. He sits 6th on tour for greens in regulation and 27h on tour for fairways in regulation. If he can just have one clean putting week he should be bang there again. My 3rd selection is a
Korn Ferry tour regular in STEPHAN JAEGER. He's one Korn Ferry tour win away from being promoted to the PGA tour. Which he should have been in by now. He's better than most playing here this week, it's just proving it against the professionals. This is his home course, so albeit he plays mainly in America, he will have the edges to this course on where to go and not to go, green undulations etc. Which could just be key. He currently leads the Korn Ferry tour standings, 4th best putter on the
tour. Won just a couple months ago so he has a recent experience of getting over the line. MY 4th selection is EDOARDO MOLINARI. He needs to play well here for his Road To Dubai points position. Comes off a good performance at the US Open. Played the Porsche Open in Germany the other month and finished T2. Also recorded at T8 at the British Masters. Last time he played this event he recorded at T3 improving from T16 the year before. My final selection is JOHN CATLIN. John won just the other
month at the Austria Open which was his 3rd win on the European Tour. He knows how to get it done and he's good enough to beat the market principles. Played this once finishing T44 so there is positives to build on there. 12th best on tour for fairway's in regulation. Should go well here, overpriced.
TRAVELLER'S CHAMPIONSHIP
PAUL CASEY is my main selection. Course specialist. Record here is; 2,17,5,2,5,32. Both times he's finished second has been to Bubba Watson who is out of form so hopefully Paul won't bump into him this time. Last 3 events on tour he's gone; T7 US Open, T4, T21. Has also had a further 4 top 10's on the PGA tour in 2021. One of the most inform players coming into this event. Sits 3rd on tour for shots gained approach. 7th for shots gained tee to green. I find him very hard to beat here and of
course he has won on the European Tour this season so he has a recent experience of getting it done. My next selection I am not giving up on yet as I think he's close to winning and playing some very good golf. It's BRIAN HARMAN. Another course specialist. T8 in 2019, T6 in 2018, 3rd in 2015. We know he can't get in done in majors now but he's still been playing very good around them. He was T8 at the Charles Schwab, T18 at the Wells Fargo, T13 at the RBC Heritage, T3 at the Players. My 3rd
selection is HARRIS ENGLISH who has some incredible stats on tour this season. He's in the top 100 for everything which very few can say they are. 27th on tour for putting percentage is always a huge bonus as very few seem to be able to putt this season. Finished 7th here in 2014 before going into the wilderness with his game. Comes here with a very solid solo 3rd at the US Open. Shooting 3 under on the final round which is very very good. T14 at the Palmetto the week before when he was very
much in with a chance before losing his head on the back 9. Clearly had quickly forgotten that which is a good sign. Should go well and probably slightly overpriced. As loads of the leaders of this market are apposable due to recent form. My final selection is GARRICK HIGGO. I do believe he’s the real deal. Missed the cut at the US Open so comes here fresh having not had the play the weekend. As I can pull apart most of those at the head of the market here due to their poor form I think it’s set
up for some big price outsiders. This looks a good chance for Garrick to stamp his authority on the PGA tour
