Our main pick yesterday BURNING EMOTION was denied by a short head under a very poor ride. He got himself in front but it was very strange not to see him grab the winner at a drifted BSP price.

VENTUROUS will look to back run off a strong pace today. The likes of veteran CASPIAN PRINCE and the speedy ORNATE will look to battle it out for that early lead, along with a few others. We have a good low draw, and are in the perfect spot to deliver a late run.

We arrive at top weight today, but I believe we are primed to win today. He won his last start at Newcastle at this class, and has ran well on the tapeta at Wolverhampton since.

The last time he ran over 5f on the tapeta he was very unlucky, and his speed figure should have been a lot higher due to a slow get away and a fast finish. That was also at 9st7lb, and Newcastle is a much easier track to get involved from the back compared to that of Wolverhampton.

His return to the AW will hopefully be a winning one at a nice price. Usual mount Connor Beasley is on today, and the trainer is in good form winning 21.43% of races in the last 14 days.

43 days off since his last run we mean he is fresh to run here, and providing he gets a gap he’ll be hard to fend off late.
