JEAN BAPTISTE has the return of Nicola Currie on board today. He does his best running with her in the saddle, and the trainer and jockey combo hits a massive 30% win rate, and a 50% place over 26 runs, giving positive p/l’s.
After some late trouble with getting out the stalls under Mark Crehan I’m hoping Nicola can get him out quickly as she has in the past, and head straight to that lead. MADIAN CASTLE is now a nr, and looked a likely pace angle meaning with a good break we can get our own way up front and at Windsor over 10f that’s a massive advantage.
This horse holds plenty of value at 9/1 and has some of the best speed ratings on display too. He won over 1m2f in a class 2, two starts back under today’s jockey, and comes into this class 3 22lb higher, and given a longer break this time to freshen up.
Big run expected her with the trainers 41% win rate at the course across 12 races in the last 5 years, and an impressive 75% place percentage too.
Our selection clears the top 4 speed ratings across the whole field, and ran them all within the last 81 days.
The addition of cheek pieces helped score a career best when first applied and didn’t seem to have an effect when slowly away last time out, but they look a positive on today providing a good start.
If he gets out swiftly and grabs the lead he’ll be hard to catch.

DASHING RAT looks a sole back runner here, and I’m ready to take full advantage.
The lightly races SAM MAXIMUS and GIS A SUB both flew out the gates on debut, and the longshot MR COALVILLE likes to be up with the pace too. HELLOMYDARLIN could even fancy the lead too, which he showed on debut, however that was a class 4.
DASHING RAT carries the most experience out the lot with 5 races to date. His last run at ascot wasn’t a disgrace when 11th of 17 in a class 1 contest, and he drops to a class 2 today, with what looks to be a perfect set up for him.
Lewis Edmunds arrives on board for the first time for the trainer, and he has a good record here. The trainer doesn’t take many here with only 3 in the last year, but has placed on 2 occasions.
SIR MAXIMUS was “all out” to hold on to his win on debut, and the stiff finish won’t help his chances here as the second fav. GIS A SUB was headed on the post on the flat 6f, so again, he won’t appreciate this stiff finish, and if they go to fast, which looks likely, we could have easy pickings from the back.
Hoping for a the perfect set up for us to fly home from the back, and DASHING RAT get a first career win.
