Ascot 15:35
ONLY SPOOFING is my selection in this big field of 20.
Our draw is good, in stall 12. We are right next to the pace of GET IT and SUNDAY SOVEREIGN who can give us a toe into the race and first run.
His run at Navan stood out to me, with the trainer quoting “today’s ground and distance are most suitable conditions”. That day was soft ground, and had a undulating, galloping stiff finish, the exact same as today’s track Ascot.
He then ran well again at Epsom coming 2nd in today’s class at today’s weight, and has the benefit of conditions on his side today, as quoted by the trainer. With the class and conditions I believe he can take a step forward and win today.
The trainer has never had a runner here, and Megan has been appointed for the first time. She is in good form and has won previously at this course.
Given a patient ride this one has every chance to snatch this race at a nice price.
Chester 15:25
AZANO applied a wild tactic of going 10 lengths ahead lto, before weakening over a mile.
Today we arrive here over 7f in the same class, and if similar tactics are applied here I’m confident he’ll be successful.
New jockey Gavin Ryan is on board today and after leading both of this last races I can see him making all today.
He has scored some good speed ratings lately, especially at Thirsk over soft going.
If tactics are applied correctly here he has all the speed he needs to win.

NATIVE TRAIL arrives here after just one start, but ticks a lot of boxes for trends in this race.
DHABAB is the obvious threat under Dettori, but being held up at Newmarket is going to be a harder task than at Ascot where it’s very beneficial.
Our selection has a good draw in the middle and is in and around the pace whereas, DHABAB is drawn furthest out wide and may not be involved.
William Buick rides our selection today rather than Charlie Appleby’s other entry here, so it’s clear to see the trainers preference despite only having 1 run to date.
He won easily on debut and the step up in class clearly shows that this horse is progressive and ready to run in the big races. Charlie has won this race 3 times out of the last 5 in this race over the last 5 years and will look to win again here.
Newmarket 16:25
Two horses to run for us in this one, I’ll start with OXTED.
Winning this race last year puts OXTED in a good position to follow up here. He performs in big fields and won the King’s Stand Stakes lto. He won going away that day over 5f, so back up in trip to 6f will suit perfectly.
Cieren Fallon retains the ride and I’m confident he’ll produce another solid effort from the back.
The danger being STARMAN, however he hasn’t performed well in big fields, and is unproven. This race has also had unplaced favorite’s 9 times out of 19.
Our horse fits many trends, and will be tough to beat.
Our other selection in this race is GLORIOUS JOURNEY.
This 6 year old is lightly raced and has hit the highs of his form recently, running very well on his last two starts.
Although a horse age 6 or older has won once since 1968 im taking a crack here at big odds.
He is trained by Charlie Appleby and ridden by James Doyle, his usual mount.
His last two rides have been very impressive and I wouldn’t be surprised if we see him go close today.
He won lto despite rearing at the start, and the drop down to 6f over the stiff finish will look to benefit this one. A real chance at a massive price.
