Newbury 15:20 ONEFORTHRGUTTER 8/1 1pt win (Inclusive)
Newbury 15:55 SKYCUTTER 9/2 2pt win (Mainstream)

Newbury 15:20Â
Â
ONEFORTHRGUTTER looks a very useful prospect today, returning 15 days prior his debut.
He scored an impressive speed rating on debut when slowly away. He made up a lot of ground that day to win the race.Â
Â
Today he arrives in class 1 company on his second start, and has a more experienced jockey in Richard Kingscote aboard, which is an upgrade from previous rider Dougie Costello.
Â
Due to being slowly away he was ridden from the rear, however he travelled strongly throughout and I hope the same tactics are applied here. Being held up in this race has shown a £49.13 p/l to £1 stakes over 47 races, and the rest all show negative results (mid division, prominent and leading). Stall 1 also has a good record when horses are held up, winning 3 from 12 with 5 places, including a massive £50.63 p/l.Â
Â
The threat here is DETAIL who also was slowly away on debut and won. We did manage to beat him on the speed ratings, but he has Sean booked again and could go close. We have the better price however.
Â
Using that experience from debut it’s likely he’ll take a step forward here. Breeding suggests he’ll love the switch to a galloping track, and he is bred to a group 3 2yo winner.Â
Â
I wanted this as a mainstream tip, but Ian Williams isn’t in the best of form, and I don’t want to chance more than 1pt.
Â
Ticks all the boxes for me, apart from the trainer form. Let’s hope he is back with a winner here, at a generous price.
Newbury 15:55Â
Â
SKYCUTTER is having his 2nd start on English soil today, and at a fair price he looks to have a great chance.
Â
He returned off a 62 day break lto to finish 2nd. That was over 1m2f, and he ran on well in the final furlong and was just held off. He is up in trip today to 1m4f, and breeding suggests this will suit, as does his previous race.
Â
9st5 lto and he arrives here 5lb better off with a bit of help from Billy Garritty’s claim of 3lb.Â
Billy is yet to run here which may flag concern, but with a weak pace forecast scheduled he will likely lead, or track the leader, and Newbury is as easy as it gets. He also has a 31.58% win rate with the trainer across 19 runs with a p/l of £18.50 to £1 stakes. He is clearly trusted by the trainer to do well here off a very winnable mark.Â
Â
The threat for me is FLYIN’ SOLO, however he looks set to run from the back and over a weak pace that will work against him. Oisin Murphy booked however but more value in my selection.
Given a positive ride this one looks to have a safe chance here.
