REAL WORLD won very impressively at Ascot lto, and heads here with a big chance.
Off a 97 day break lto at Ascot he dominated the field of 30, and was even eased towards the finish. He scored a huge speed rating that day, and in a smaller field at a venue slightly better suited to front runners this one stands a big chance today.
Marco Ghiani has shaken off his apprentice claim since he last rode that huge speed rating, and arrives here 14lb higher than last time. This doesn’t concern me. He won with plenty in hand, and the further distance today will help. He ran over 1m2f over at Meydan, coming 4th and 3rd. His debut run was also over 1m2f when he won well at Chelmsford.
2nd time off a break today and up in class I do believe this horse has plenty to show, and with the same jockey aboard a prominent ride from the front will show a good run.
The danger is DERAB, who is down in weight but goes up in class for the first time to a class 1. That is a big jump but he is unexposed and could run well. What puts me off however is Martin Harley hasn’t won at the track in the past year across 17 races, only placing 3 times.
Marco has ridden 9 times for S Bin Suroor and won 4, giving a p/l of £18.07.
Godolphin’s have won this race 4 times from the last 11, and we are the only one in this race.
Hoping for a great front running display, and if we get that we stand every chance.

DILIGENT HARRY steps hoof onto the grass for the first time and I think it will be a winning move.
A very consistent performer who has placed in the top 3 on all his 5 starts to date.
His last was in today’s class at the galloping track of Newcastle on the AW. He scored a good speed rating that day, and with usual mount Adam Kirby returning back in the saddle today I think this one will go even better.
The smaller field will help here as there simply looks to be no pace on other than ours here. The rest likely be held up and I really believe we can snatch this race from the front. That’s the main angle I’m going on here. Good speed rating and a very advantageous early position.
Our other selection in this race is ROYAL COMMANDO.
He returned off a 190 day break at Doncaster to run a very good racing coming first in today’s class (1). He is down 1lb from that today and Charlie Hills has appointed Marco Ghiani to ride.
The reason why this is only a 0.5pt win is because 8 from the last 10 winners of this race have been 4/1 or shorter. I’m having a small go here however as Charlie Hills has won 2 from the last 6 runnings of this race.
A real interesting race, and if it isn’t won from the front we have a horse to come through from the back.

STUNNING BEAUTY is having his 5th career start today, and is returning after a poor getaway last time due to his hood being pulled off late. He lost many lengths and was pulled up. This was not his fault at all.
Bar the antics of last race this horse is unbeaten in 3 starts. He won at Doncaster when returning off a 99 day break, making the running and fighting off challenges. An impressive run on his 3rd start; he was set to carry 9st8lb for that, but after being pulled up he arrives here at 9st3lb, with help from Ray Dawson’s claim. That’s a generous weight, just 7lb up from his victory at Doncaster.
Not a lot of pace on here and I expect us to make all. Many have been slowly away and are unreliable out the gates, and providing it stays that way we should get a nice lead early. 19 from 100 leaders have won this race giving a p/l of £36.50 to £1 stakes. With the lack of speed I expect a easy race upfront, and with improvement on the cards this one will be tough to pass.
Ray Dawson is 1 win from 2 for the trainer and will look to add to that today.
The danger here is RIFLEMAN.
He is a bit of an unreliable sort in running. He threw off Ryan Moore 2 starts ago, and “served sharply left” lto. He seems to be all over the place when tired so the trainer has gelded him prior to this race. He shouldn’t be involved with the speed however, so our selection has the better position.
With a clean ride up top there is no reason he won’t follow up that victory at Doncaster.
