Where Do I Expect This Horse To Run?
This will be a back runner tomorrow. It has done in almost all his recent races, and I expect no different here.
Why The Trainer And Jockey?
Neither have fantastic stats, but Kieran’s 5lb claim is very key here. He also knows this course fairly well, and has ridden this horse several times.
The trainer has a really poor record here with just 1 in 62 runs. You may be thinking why on earth are we betting then? Well BROKEN SPEAR is one is his top horses. It’s not a huge barn, and this horse is yet to visit here, so it doesn’t come as a surprise to me that his record here is so poor. Only 3 of his 16 horses have a win. BROKEN SPEAR being the only one was a positive p/l to £1 stakes (£13).
Why The Horse?
BROKEN SPEAR ran an absolute cracker lto at York, when slowly away and running on well. He was 8th of 17, but clocked up a huge speed rating in a class 2. The race before was also a good effort when 5th of 11 in a class 2.
Despite being a galloping course; BROKEN SPEAR does have form over the sharp aswell.
He is down in class to a class 3 and is actually 1lb lighter than his last run, thanks to the jockey claim. The run appeared worse than what it was, and a run from the back should see this horse in great shape.
His last race in a class 3 was under today jockey, over a distance he likes. He didn’t run well that day due to the prominent isn’t position Kieran put him in. He has since ran well when riding patiently, and I hope he doesn’t make that same mistake again today.
Good price here, and with a weak fav I think we can get the win.

Where Do I Expect This Horse To Run?
I want this horse bowling along infront. That has been the case for his last two runs, and he has won both.
Why The Trainer And Jockey?
Luke Morris knows how to ride from the front, and S Dow does well here.
Why The Horse?
Going up in class didn’t prove a problem lto, as he won going away. With less weight on today and I can see us going start to finish with no problem after scoring back to back impressive speed ratings with a heavier weight.
