August Betting Report

I thought it might be a good idea to share my monthly results, real stakes, as a sort of 'betting diary' if you will. The aim, as it always has been with me, is to just be 100% transparent and honest to the audience. Make of the below what you will.

Most are services through Punthub. Naturally I trust what I bring to the table myself more than I do others.. Not all punthub services are in my portfolio so anything not mentioned here simply means im not following it personally - either I dont have the betting bank or it doesn't suit my preferred betting style or portfolio which is all betfair exchange.

Ai Lays

Stake per bet: £5

Bets placed: 47

Wins: 38

Profit: +£85.60

Comments:

Lowest volume of lays in a calendar month since they began but a nice profit come month end. All losing lays below 4/1 and a high strike rate, the starting point and main service in the portfolio. Ideal because its automated no chasing prices and the bot does it all for me.

Lay of the Day

Comments:

Wholesale change made in June, made the decision to delete all old results as it's a completely fresh system. In no way was this done to hide or mask anything as the old system was in long term profit but was stagnant. August saw a high strike rate but minimal profit, its better than zero, its better than a loss, but it wasn't fantastic with a couple of winners late in the month ruining the profit. Will take it and move on.

Football Away Lays

Comments:

I was originally running the expanded system on £1 real stakes, after a week or so and some heavy losses (£30+) I took a look back at the systems involved and removed two of them, then upped my stakes to £5. Results relfect since moving to £5 lays.

Football Lay The Draw

Comments:

A whole lot of bets for next to no profit. A tweak was made around a week ago to remove the weaker of the 3 systems, what effect that has had so far I can't say as im not tracking the one I removed (I am with the two away lays systems). I know from historic results its the weaker of the 3 in the bot but I was keen to offer a bit of everything profitable in the bot with membership. I'll continue running it with a long term view but won't be upping my stakes anytime soon.

Football Back The Draw

Comments:

Impressive early strike rate for a backing service (61%) - I've always felt people overlook the draw as a result, everyone has opinions on football ("Man City are better than Brighton" - or not) the opinion is generally one team should beat the other. Smashed it on the final weekend of August wiht 5 straight winning draws, something i've never seen before. Can't wait to double stakes on these.

Greyhound Guy

So I paid £50 to join a greyhound exchange service to see what all the fuss was about. I spoke to him about automating via xcloudbot, didnt seem at all bothered or interested. My offer of automation was mostly because he tips as the dogs are going into the traps which is fair enough, theres no money on betfair until 3-5 mins pre off. I figured it would benefit myself and his memebrs but nevermind, not everyone you approach is game. 

Anyway. I fucked around at £10 a point and basically made nothing, missed a few winners due to swimming and holidays etc, gave him the benefit of doubt and paid again for September, which I kinda regret as I dont think its a service that suits me betting live all day. Needs automating and he doesn't want to so going to drop it.

Gap Lays

A solid idea in theory, using some ratings, weight them by category, sum them, and find a gap between rivals. Started on Gap 10 (a gap of 10 to rivals) which from 53 real bets show a total loss of £1. After running backtesting and adding 7 & 12 gaps to the bot I moved to real money on Gap 7, and back to sim on gap 10. Gap 7 results: 54 bets, -£3.22 
Grand total loss of £4 from 100 or so lays to date.

Greyhound lays

-£26 so far to £1 lays, think i'll stick them back on sim mode for a while.
